The woman in Revelation 12 represents more than just Mary, the mother of Jesus. The exciting thing about this picture is that the woman (the Jewish people) is standing on the moon and not on the earth. The moon represents timetable. It can be understood that the Jewish people are the hands of the world clock.
It is also interesting to note that the war is ultimately waged against those who “keep the commandments of God and hold fast the testimony of Jesus“ (Revelation 12:17). Messianic Jews keep the commandments of God (Jewish traditions) and hold fast to the testimony of Jesus.
In this vision, the focus is not on the world but on the Jewish people (represented as women) who are in the devil’s crosshairs. The key point is that when Christ begins his reign over the world, the devil will be driven back and thrown to the earth (verse 10). The text does not say when this will be.
Jesus also says in Acts 1:7: “It is not for you to know the times and seasons which the Father has fixed by his authority.”
Perhaps the denial of the date is the solution to the great mystery. Perhaps it is not a date at all, but a condition.
Maybe there is still the Nineveh factor. As long as people repent, God is still waiting with judgement.
