Luke 1.70: Thus he promised from ancient times through the mouth of his holy prophets.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, you announced the birth of Jesus through the prophets: In Isaiah 7:14 it says: “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel.”

Isaiah 9:6 says: “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

A child called “Mighty God”, “Everlasting Father”, “Prince of Peace” and “Wonderful Counsellor” is extraordinary. Likewise, that he is born of a virgin.

This promise and many others were fulfilled in Jesus.

There is a red line in the Bible that runs through it. Through Jesus we are led back into fellowship with Heavenly Father. You, Jesus, want us to turn to you and tell to you what we need, what we think and feel. Everything should flow into adoration and glorification of you.

This is how the prophets said it: Immanuel, God with us. You are no longer a far, unreachable God, but a God who is with us. Jesus said this in John 14:23: “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”
